Lausanne City - SL Benfica: Cityzens lose at home (1-2)

On Sunday, the heavy, oppressive weather seemed to herald an intense confrontation, both climatically and emotionally. Expectations were high, but the reality proved far more disappointing.

Lausanne City - SL Benfica: Nos Cityzens s'inclinent à domicile (1-2)

From the kick-off, the Cityzens showed their determination with a magnificent goal from Idrissa, which set the fans on fire. Hope was palpable, and the team's fluid play suggested a fine performance. However, this fine start quickly faded. The players, under the guidance of their coach, Toni Parente, seemed to lose their momentum and their desire to dominate the match. This slackness allowed Benfica to get into the game, taking advantage of a lack of aggression in the equaliser.

By half-time, tensions were running high. Despite their intentions to regain the initiative, it was their opponents who took the lead. From their only shot on goal of the second half, a precise cross found an unmarked striker at the far post, who gave his team the lead.

The goal was a real blow for Lausanne City. The players, already affected by the turn of events, struggled to find cohesion and create chances. The minutes ticked by and disillusionment set in on the pitch, making the task even harder.

With this defeat, our players must now turn their attention to the final match at Chavornay, an opportunity to end the season on a positive note.
